BOTTOMS up! A popular annual beer festival is returning to Portsmouth Guildhall this weekend.

Portsmouth Beer Festival is returning to the Guildhall for the fourth year running.

The festival will take place tomorrow evening and throughout the day and evening on Saturday.

It is run by the team behind the Victorious music festival, held on Southsea seafront in August, who also put on Oktoberfest in Guildhall Square last year.

Ben Miles, one of the organisers, said: ‘It is always a good event for us, we do one every year in May and one at Christmas. People come back year on year and support it.’

Portsmouth Beer Festival features over 100 cask ales, a selection of draught beers and ciders and also features a gin and wine bar this year for those who fancy an alternative to beer.

The weekend promises a variety of live music and entertainment, as well as games, food and much more.

But the organisers do not have any plans yet to expand the event over an entire weekend.

Ben said: ‘There’s some stuff that works so well. We’re always looking for news thing to add each year, we keep the beer list as fresh as possible which is our core offering.’

Ben added: ‘This year we’ve added the gin and wine bar which is an additional offering for people to try something a bit different, a bit new.’

Portsmouth Beer Festival is also proud to be supporting The Thunder Foundation again this weekend.

Ben added: ‘All the money raised from the games room goes to our chosen charity, The Thunder Foundation which supports children in Kenya.’

Tickets are £11 and are still available and include a souvenir glass, a programme and a beer plus a full line-up of entertainment. To find out more, go to pompeybeerfestival.co.uk
