ORGANISERS of a new stitchers’ group hope a second ‘project night’ they are planning will be just as successful as the first.

The Material Girls group is planning to hold the meeting at the Make and The Craft Kitchen in Cornwall Road, Fratton, on Thursday, April 23 from 7pm to 9pm.

The group’s founder Pam Lander Brinkley said crafters would make bags for donation to the Rocky Appeal in aid of Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

Ms Lander Brinkley said she had received a ‘wonderful’ response to the first project night in February, which attracted dozens of stitchers.

She said: ‘If people know what they want to do, they can bring their materials and kit, but for those less sure, we will have patterns, ideas and people to give advice and support.

‘We will also be having a fabric and yarn swap amongst attendees.’

Cost is £5, or membership for the year is £30.
