VINTAGE comes to town when Cosham hosts an annual food festival this weekend.

Tomorrow, Hampshire Farmer’s Market will take over Cosham high street for a day of cookery demonstrations, tasting sessions and an introduction into local cooking.

The theme is Dig for Victory, showing visitors the importance of growing your own food harking back to the Second World War.

The event follows on from the recently successful Southsea food festival and will include theatrical street entertainment.

Visitors can expect an appearance from community chef Robin Van Creveld, who will host a local cooking presentation on the high street.

Robin, who has worked in the food industry since 1994, will take a hand at making tantalising recipes featuring summer tortillas with sage and feta cheese and seared summer fruits with elderflower yoghurt and toasted almonds.

The event, held in association with Portsmouth City Council, will be held 10-4pm.
