THIS was the heart-warming scene at an open-air harvest festival after a huge amount of food was donated to good causes.

The interdenominational service, held in St Peter’s Square, on Sunday, rounded off the two-week Emsworth British Food Fortnight.

It saw volunteers from across the town organise events to promote the best in local produce.

But there was also a big emphasis on food education and helping the community.

The Beacon Food Bank, in Havant, benefited from the food mountain which will be distributed across the town.
