Have your say

THERE is a day and night-full of fun to be had at a free festival.

Forton Fest began 10 years ago as a way of building a sense of community in the Forton area of Gosport.

It has grown to include the best, live, home-grown bands, children’s entertainers, stalls and food.

This year the money raised from today’s event will go to the Gosport Basics Food Bank and the Salvation Army.

Organiser Tammy Kent said: ‘We are hoping the sun shines. We have lots of cold drinks and ice lollies.

‘The mayor and mayoress of Gosport will be opening the event at 10am and Martin the Monkey, from Monkey Business will be there until 1pm.

‘From 1pm Darth Vader and Chewbacca will be joined by Katsuma from Mooshi Monsters.

‘There will be face painting, glitter tattoos, trampolines, a bouncy castle and plenty of stalls and fun for everyone.’

Donations of dried food and tins for the food bank are most welcome. For more information go to Forton Fest on Facebook.
