They started their syndicate in January and brought their lucky ticket from the Tesco Express in North End.

Tom, aged 45, said: ‘I couldn’t believe it when we won.

‘I was sat there watching the draw and when I saw three numbers I thought, great that’s £25, then they just kept coming.

‘I immediately text the boys and they all came round.’

The group work for Hampshire-based CCN Communications.

The won a share of the £6.2m lottery jackpot, winning a cool £1,558,848, with the numbers: 14, 19, 22, 25, 38, 48.

Lewis, from Copnor, added: ‘The numbers are birthdays, special dates and our family’s lucky number, number 22.

‘Then, for the others, I looked up on the internet to see what statistically came up most often.’

All four colleagues plan to carry on working and are looking to spend their winnings on paying off their mortgages and family holidays.
