THE Wight Diamonds Marching Band will perform a free seaside concert in aid of the Red Cross.

Music lovers are urged to take along a chair and a picnic to Eastoke Plaza, Hayling, on May 11 where the brass band will play popular pieces.

Red Cross Hayling Island centre manager Tony Lamberti said: ‘We are honoured that the band has chosen to come and entertain the folk on Hayling Island with their rousing music.

‘Although the concert is free, we will be taking a collection in aid of Red Cross Week.’

He added: ‘Come and join us, it will be a fun afternoon.’

The show is from 2pm to 4pm.
