GYMNASTS raised thousands of pounds towards their goal of opening a gymnastics centre in Stubbington.

The Stubbington Springboard Gymnastics Club held a fundraising event at the Stubbington Scout hall.

The group raised £2,003.

Sarah Yeomans, from the club, said: ‘We are in constant need of equipment in order to help our gymnasts and coaches reach their full potential through coach education. We are also trying to raise £300,000 to build our own gymnastics centre in Stubbington. We hope to offer classes to all ages and abilities.’

The fundraising event was helped with donations from companies including the Laverstoke Park Farm.
