STAFF at a Southsea department store are offering people pampering sessions to raise money for charity.

Debenhams in Palmerston Road is hosting a health and beauty gala night for the Portsmouth branch of charity Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

On Tuesday, guests can sit back and relax as they receive complimentary make-overs and beauty consultations, as well as beauty bags.

There will also be free refreshments including drinks and cupcakes at the event, held from 6pm to 8pm.

Cash for MND Association will be raised on the night through raffle ticket sales, with top prizes on offer.

MND attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.

This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and loss of movement. It can affect how people walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.

Tickets for the gala evening are priced at £2, which is redeemable against the purchase of beauty products, which have 10 per cent off.

To ring and book a space, call the store on 02392 882362.
