Get yourself a new look with charity clothes swap

LETTER OF THE DAY: Hope I don’t end up in an ‘uncaring’ care home

Have your say

ARE your old clothes too big for you?

Or does your wardrobe need updating?

Then a clothes swap sale may be the answer.

Lucy Gulliver and Jenny Jones, who are both Slimming World consultants, are holding a clothes swap event tomorrow in aid of The Rowans Hospice, Purbrook.

The idea is that women who have recently lost weight or want some more clothes but don’t have the budget to buy them new can bring along their old items.

Entrance is 50p and you can take away as many items as you take along.

Mrs Gulliver, from Denmead, said: ‘We decided to hold a clothes swap because obviously we have a lot of members who grow out of their clothes.

‘It seems a shame to throw them away or leave them at the back of your wardrobe when they could be just what someone else is looking for.

‘The Rowans is a very important charity to many of the people in our groups and we have held several collections for them in the past.’

The swap is from midday to 2pm at St Francis Church Hall, Riders Lane, Leigh Park.

Clothes must be good quality, and clean. Any clothes left over will be donated to The Rowans Hospice. Changing areas will be available.
