THE gold post box of Olympic cycling heroine Dani King is set to stay.

The Royal Mail has announced it is to allow all of the post boxes it painted gold in the hometowns of Olympic winners to remain. It had originally planned to return them to red.

The postbox for Miss King in Hamble square marks her gold in the team pursuit and will also have a plaque to mark her achievement.

The 21-year-old often trained at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth.
