GENEROUS golfers have raised thousands of pounds for a cancer charity after a long year of fundraising.

The seniors section at Lee-on-the-Solent golf club, captained by Harry Cottrell, raised £3,650 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The section, made up of members aged more than 60 years old, and based in Brune Lane, held raffles at formal dinners and had two charity golf days to raise the cash. The charity was chosen by Mr Cottrell.
