AN ANIMAL charity is offering £5 cat neutering to help lower the number of unwanted kittens.

The Gosport branch of Cats Protection says there has been an increase in the number of unwanted kittens being handed in to animal charities.

Cats Protection is offering to arrange neutering for the subsidised price of £5 - and the charity will pay the difference.

Kate Stapleford, of Gosport Cats Protection, said: ‘Cats Protection has seen a huge increase in unwanted kittens and cats being handed in or abandoned and of course unneutered animals contribute to this spiral.

‘In running a £5 neutering scheme Gosport Cats Protection seeks to take action in alleviating the pressure on owners and animal charities such as our own.’

The campaign will run throughout October and is aimed at people living in Gosport who have a low income. For details call (023) 9258 2601.
