PARKS and green spaces in Gosport won 10 awards at this year’s regional In Bloom ceremony.

The South and South East In Bloom finals were held at Fontwell Racecourse on September 7.

Winners included the town’s Crescent Gardens and Wildgrounds Nature Reserve which won park of the year and conservation area of the year.

Gosport was awarded silver in the small city of the year category and Lee-on-the-Solent won silver in the coastal town of the year award.

The South and South East In Bloom Chairman’s Award was given to St Mary’s churchyard in Alverstoke.

Leesland Park was given the silver award in the park of the year category and Alverstoke Village gained bronze in the large village of the year award.

Two community group awards were given to the Friends of Leesland Park and the Lee-on-the-Solent Residents’ Association.

A prestigious level five award in this category went to the Friends of Crescent Gardens.
