IS YOUR dad always trying to make you laugh by goofing around?
Capture it on camera and you could land him and you a fantastic prize of a trip to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
With Father’s Day approaching, it’s time for our Daft Dads competition.
Last year, we did something different, inviting you to draw pictures of your dad. But this year we’re once again asking you to send in snaps of your dad doing crazy things.
The winner will get two tickets and two programmes for the Festival of Speed near Chichester on Friday, July 12.
It’s the world’s biggest celebration of the history of motorsport and features an amazing array of racing cars plus driving heroes from yesteryear and today’s F1 stars.
Your own hero (your dad, of course!) will be able to get up close to legends such as Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jackie Stewart, plus Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg.
This year’s 20th Festival of Speed will be like a ‘greatest hits’ of the past two decades, focusing on highlights from the event.
Great cars from around the world will make a rare return to the UK, while racing machines and their drivers will be reunited on the famous hillclimb course past Goodwood House.
The event will feature everything from steam-powered carriages of the 19th century to the latest 200mph supercars and 3,000bhp top fuel dragsters to classic rally cars.
There is also the Cartier Style et Luxe concours d’elegance, a glimpse into the future of transportation at FoS-TECH, plus a forest rally stage, a special Junior Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Action Sports arena, featuring different types of extreme two-wheeled sport.
Our fun competition is simple to enter. Just e-mail a picture (with Daft Dad in the subject field) to email@example.com.
Or you can post it to: Daft Dad Competition, Features Department, The News, News Centre, Hilsea, Portsmouth, PO2 9SX.
Please include your name and that of your dad, plus his age, address and a mobile/daytime telephone number where we can reach him. Some details on what the picture shows and where it was taken would also be helpful.
We’d also like to see video clips of your dad doing daft things that we may use on our website, portsmouth.co.uk. Just attach them to your e-mailed entries.
Entries need to be in by midnight on Monday June 10, 2013.
