AN ambitious film project featuring people from Portsmouth telling the story of the city in the lead-up to the Great War has received an Arts Council England grant.

Faces will be showcased as part of this summer’s Portsmouth Festivities, the city’s annual arts celebration.

It will be developed through a series of workshops with residents, led by the video-performance art collective Wilson-Eflerova and will culminate in an outdoor video installation in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

There will also be smaller screenings at venues across the city and the film will shared online.

The Portsmouth Festivities will run from Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 29.

Anyone interested in taking part can email or call (023) 9268 1390.
