FOUR Hampshire firefighters were injured after their fire engine crashed into a tree.

The accident happened while responding to an emergency call yesterday.

One member of the crew was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by paramedics after the incident which happened around 12:30pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service says no other vehicles were involved.

An investigation is now being carried out by Hampshire Constabulary.
