The service was set up to help the police look for people when they have gone
missing.

Anne Collis volunteers for Hantsar as a search manager.

She said: ‘It’s a voluntary organisation. We are on call 24/7.

‘Most of the people who join want to give something back to the community.

‘My grandmother had Alzheimer’s and she used to wander off. So a lot of us have experience of something like this. People just want to be able to help.

‘Some people are retired and want to be able to do a bit more.

‘We are looking for people who have the time on their hands and can get up at three o’clock in the morning to help out but also people who can help us with training and getting up to standard.’

A recruitment evening is taking place on Thursday, February 12.
