A SELECTION of new social groups for residents over 50 have been launched.

They are designed for those who want to meet new friends, try out activities and enjoy a chat over tea and cake.

The groups meet every Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm at St Jude’s Church, in Kent Road, Southsea, every Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit, in Fawcett Road, Southsea and every Thursday from 10am to midday at Trinity Methodist Church, in Albert Road, Southsea. The sessions cost £2 to attend and are a joint initiative between Portsmouth City Council and Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group.

More groups are planned to start in the summer, including a new-age kurling group in Somers Town. For more information, contact Julie Roberts on (023) 9268 8705.
