FAMILIES enjoyed a weekend of traditional seaside fun and entertainment with donkeys, hula hooping and welly throwing.
The Rural and Seaside Show, on Castle Field, Southsea, was a big success and families came from all over to enjoy the entertainment, which included fairground rides, falconry displays and pirate sword fighting.
Lana Whitlock, 36, travelled from Southampton for the show with her family. She said: ‘The little ones love the animals. There’s lots to do and it’s great that it’s free to get in. It’s really nice to have something like this for the whole family.’
The show began a few years ago, taking over from the Heavy Horse Show that was traditionally held on Southsea Common.
They were back on Sunday wowing the crowds. The event is run by Portsmouth City Council with a market by Love Southsea.
