Sainsbury’s Farlington, Fitzherbert Road, is calling on residents to pick a local charity to be the focus of donations for the coming year.

Once chosen, the charity will have a year’s worth of fundraising and awareness from the store and colleagues.

Last year, the store managed to raise £2,900 for Headway.

Phil Bridgewater, store manager, said: ‘This is such a great way of highlighting a local charity and the work that they do within the community.

‘It is a pleasure to be able to hand over a cheque for this amount and I look forward to announcing our next charity in June.’

Residents and customers have from May 1 till May 15 to vote either by ballot box in store or online at sainsburys.co.uk/localcharity
