IT promises to be quite a spectacle as a stream of classic cars travels across Portsdown Hill this weekend.

The Mayor of Havant, Gerald Shimbart, is hosting the 9th Annual Classic Vehicle Run on Sunday.

Cars, motorbikes and commercial vehicles that pre-date 1987 will be flagged off by Cllr Shimbart at 10am from The Plaza car park in Havant.

Participating vehicles will travel through Hampshire’s countryside before arriving at the Peter Ashley Activity Centre, at Fort Purbrook, in Portsdown Hill Road.

Vehicles are expected to arrive from around midday and be on view as part of a family fun day.

Activities will be available at Fort Purbrook from around 11.30am and the band Isthison will provide musical entertainment

Last year more than 160 vehicles took part in the event, which raises money for several charities, including The Samaritans and CancerWise.
