BRIDES and bridesmaids have been invited to make history.

The 700-year-old Guildhall, in Priory Park, Chichester, has been licensed for civil ceremonies and to celebrate, nearby Novium Museum, in Tower Street, is hosting an open day to showcase the building as a wedding venue.

‘Whether you’re looking for an excuse to wear your wedding dress again, or just like the idea of getting dressed up, we’d love to see as many brides and bridesmaids as possible to open the event in style,’ said Councillor Gillian Keegan, from Chichester District Council.

‘This event will be a perfect opportunity to showcase The Guildhall and its potential.

‘We are so excited to be able to offer this venue for civil ceremonies and would encourage anyone planning their special day to pop in and see what The Guildhall can offer.’

Brides in The Guildhall will take place between 11am and midday on Sunday, August 2 with open viewing until 4pm.
