SAILORS at HMS Collingwood have delivered a boost to a children’s charity through an annual relay race.

The Fareham navy base took the Norfolk Trophy – a challenge which is run every year in memory of Mike Till, who died while serving on board HMS Sheffield during the Falklands Conflict.

The Collingwood team was named the winner after submitting a time of 6hrs 41mins and 43secs.

They raised around £520 for Fareham-based children’s charity the Rainbow Centre.

Leading Physical Trainer Anthony ‘Scouse’ Carley said: ‘I’m glad to have won the title for a second year running.

‘I have my fingers crossed to retain it for next year.

‘It was an absolute pleasure to hold a fundraiser for the Rainbow Centre.’
