PORT Solent was the location for a unique fundraising event against cancer.
Volunteers turned out for Sunsail’s 24 Hours in a Liferaft challenge in aid of Sail 4 Cancer.
The event started at midday and the daring volunteers braved the cold November weather to stay in the liferaft for 24 hours to raise awareness that 1,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer every day.
It took place outside Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club.
Sunsail has worked with Sail 4 Cancer for the past four years by providing opportunities for families affected by cancer to get away from the stress of their daily lives.
The charity was set up 11 years ago by sailors who had all lost someone close to them to the disease and provides respite days and water-based holidays.
