THE duo who masterminded a spectacular theatrical revival in Chichester have been honoured.

Chichester Festival Theatre artistic director Jonathan Church and CFT executive director Alan Finch are both to receive CBEs – a crowning moment in a remarkable story of success.

The news comes as they start their 10th summer season at the venue – far more than anyone else in the theatre’s 53-year history.

A CFT spokesman said: ‘It’s fantastic news. We’re really proud that Jonathan and Alan, pictured, have received this substantial honour for all they’ve achieved during these past 10 years at Chichester Festival Theatre.’

Shelagh Jane Legrave, principal and chief executive, Chichester College is made an OBE for services to further education.

David Patrick Henry Burgess, MBE, from Chichester, is now made an OBE for Services to young people and the community in West Sussex.

There is also an OBE for Roderick Barrymore Brooke Jones for services to the community in Bognor Regis.

Anthony John French, is made an MBE for services to the community in Chichester.

And Iain Shepherd, marine systems director for MARCOM Defence, from Chichster, is now an MBE.
