THE two penguins featured in this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert have paid a visit to Marwell Zoo.

The penguins, called Monty and Mabel, appear in the advert, which features Chichester singer Tom Odell’s version of the song Real Love, a number four hit for The Beatles in March 1996.

A Marwell Wildlife spokesman said: ‘We’re delighted to say that the famous Monty the penguin and his partner Mabel, stars of the John Lewis Christmas advert, visited the zoo for their first date today.

‘They are now best friends with our own little celebrity, Ralph the penguin. They took some spectacular penguin ‘selfies’.’
