YOUNG footballers will wear the colours of teams from across the globe at a World Cup-inspired tournament taking place on Sunday.

Under-eight teams from across the region will each pick one of 16 national teams competing in the World Cup.

The first and second placed team will respectively receive £750 and £250 sponsorship money from Richmond Motor Group in Farlington.

The football kits were donated by clothing company Joma and proceeds will go to charity Pompey in the Community.

Julia Tseklova, of Richmond Motor Group, said: ‘The kits will be similar to the original ones, so they’ll be looking good.’

The event’s other organisers are Claire Martin and Mark Mudie.

The tournament will take place at PlayFootball Portsmouth from 11am to 4pm.
