A FREE open day is taking place at a marina on Hayling Island.

Visitors are invited to explore the 228-berth Northney Marina and take part in a number of onshore activities held throughout the day.

Sessions include a ‘distress flare amnesty’, run by one of the UK’s leading bomb disposal companies, Ramora UK, along with Hampshire Constabulary Marine Unit. The session gives visitors the opportunity to dispose of expired pyrotechnics safely.

The marina, off Northney Road, will be open from 10am to 3pm tomorrow.

Marina manager Carl Jarmaine said: ‘We are really looking forward to our open day.’
