AN ARTS festival comes to Emsworth this weekend as sculptors, painters and stitchers display their work in a variety of settings.

Organised by Havant Borough Council, the Nine Days Arts Trail was a success last weekend at venues across the rest of the town.

This weekend’s highlights include the stitchmakers’ exhibition at Emsworth Museum, in North Street, where textile artists will be giving demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday, between 10.30am and 12.30pm and 1pm and 4pm.

Visitors will also be able to view the stained-glass windows at St Thomas Church, New Brighton Road, along with artwork by parishioners and schoolchildren.

More than 25 other artists will be displaying their work in their homes and studios for art lovers to look at and discuss – all for free.

There will also be events throughout the weekend at The Spring art centre, in East Street, Havant. Go to for details.
