PICNICKERS will be accompanied by a concert band to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Warblington and Denvilles Residents’ Association has organised the picnic in Warblington School playground on Tuesday, June 5.

The fun starts at midday with music from Emsworth Concert Band and councillor Gerald Shimbart, mayor of Havant, will arrive at 2.45pm.

There will be the chance to indulge in a spot of line dancing and the association has organised a number of competitions including a family Jubilee quiz, best dressed teddy bear competition and a name the teddy bear competition.

One of the highlights will be the fancy dress competition which has the Jubilee as its theme.

There will be a tombola, craft and charity stalls and even a fire engine on display.

At the end of the event there will be a balloon release.

Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for children under 16. They can be bought from members of the residents association.

Tables will be provided but participants should take along their own food and drink as well as their own chairs.
