POMPEY hero Linvoy Primus has the latest news at his fingertips thanks to our fantastic new iPad app.
The former defender, adored by the Fratton Park faithful thanks to a Blues career spanning nearly a decade, downloaded the app to get the latest news and sport from in and around the Portsmouth area.
Although he admits he is only just getting his head around the ever-progressing technology world, Linvoy says he was quick to get to grips with our app.
He said: ‘It’s good because people are on the move all the time. If you are on a train, people will flick through the newspaper and leave it where it is, but if you have an iPad you can access it as often as you want without it being bulky to carry around with you.
‘It’s easy to understand when you have a play with it and it’s as good as having the real paper in your hands.
‘With the app, you could be reading the paper as soon as you wake up – The News is literally at your fingertips.
‘I am impressed by it. I am only just getting into technology and from what I see it’s easy for me to understand and use, and I think that’s saying something. We are going into a generation where it’s not slowing down, it’s speeding up. It’s a good idea and it works.’
Like Linvoy, you can download the app for a free 30-day trial today.
The app gives users the latest breaking news and also the chance to read the newspaper in its traditional format and access an archive of past copies.
After downloading the app from the Apple App store, it allows readers to browse the editor’s picks of the day, plus sections for news, Pompey, sport, business, lifestyle and nostalgia. In the digital section, users can scroll to browse content across all channels before clicking into articles and swiping to read more.
Readers who receive delivery direct from The News can use the app for free and will receive a letter detailing how they can arrange this after the 30-day free trial. The same goes for our prepaid subscription voucher customers.
The app costs £5.99 a month. Find it by opening the iTunes App Store on your device and searching for The News Portsmouth.
