A CHARITY which supports children with cancer and their families has been given a five-figure boost thanks to a radio station’s fundraising drive.

Wave 105, which is in Fareham, has raised £23,000 in aid of CLIC Sargent through its annual Cash for Kids Day.

It saw the Wave 105 presenters competing in their power hours to raise the most funds to provide much-needed services for the charity.

Gloria Hill, station charity manager, said: ‘Wave 105 Cash for Kids grants donations to individual local children and children’s charities across the south. We are thrilled to help raise this life-changing amount of money in just one day for this worthy cause.

‘The funds provided by Wave 105 listeners will go towards supporting families dealing with the devastation caused by childhood cancer.’
