A NIGHT of excitement and glamour is on offer as Locks Heath Free Church holds an auction and charity dinner in aid of its building project.

A gala dinner is being held next weekend, offering a night out with a three-course meal and a silent auction with a wide range of items up for grabs from art pieces to salon days.

Pauline Griffiths, church secretary and administrator, said the event was being hosted to raise funds for a new church building.

‘It is one of our biggest projects,’ she said.

‘So we are very grateful that we can use the Solent Hotel.’

The church is trying to raise £4.2m to pay for the new building, which will be used to accommodate its growing congregation.

The dinner is just one of many fundraising events planned by the church, in Hunts Pond Road.

The dinner is taking place at the Solent Hotel in Whiteley on Saturday, November 7.

Tickets are £50 and can be bought online at lhfc.org.uk. For more, call 01489 579669.
