The Gosport brewer first completed the London Marathon two years ago and has since gone on to run in Brighton and Bournemouth.

But on Sunday he will be taking to the streets of London again to raise money for children’s hospice Naomi House.

Ed, 46, said: ‘I am feeling extremely nervous and even though I have a little bit of experience, it doesn’t stop the nerves.

‘Training has been going well and I was running half marathons before I got my place so I am feeling good about completing it.

‘I am just ready for it now and cannot wait.’

Ed admitted he was going to take a year off marathon running but decided to sign up after wanting to raise money for Naomi House.

‘I wasn’t going to do one this year,’ he added.

‘But my friend’s son died in Naomi House so I decided to sign up and smash my fundraising target.

‘We have nearly raised £2,500 which is fantastic. I am so grateful to everyone who has donated and believe in me and the charity.

‘I cannot thank people enough for giving money.’
