HIS big blue eyes are enough to melt anybody’s heart.

Little Levi Guy is the winner of The News’ Cute Kids Competition 2014 and his proud parents are over the moon.

It was a bumper year of entries for the competition, with more than 330 parents putting their children forward.

Levi, who turned one last month, won over the judges with his cheeky smile and baby-blue eyes.

Mum and dad Michelle Brain, 36, and Derrick Guy, 33, were stunned when they heard.

Michelle submitted the photograph of Levi with no expectation of him winning the contest.

‘I’m over the moon,’ said Michelle, of Rowan Road, Denvilles, who works at Apollo Fire Detectors in Havant.

‘I didn’t think he was going to win it. I would like to thank everyone who voted for him.

‘Everyone loves his big blue eyes – they are from his dad.

‘He’s a mini-Derrick as people say!’

Derrick, a security guard, said: ‘He’s a beautiful kid. He’s definitely got my eyes.

‘We are going to buy him a few new toys.

‘I am going to try and get him to do some catalogue modelling. He enjoys it.’

Levi will soon have a sister Grace joining him at home.

Michelle is currently recovering at Queen Alexandra Hospital after giving birth a week ago.

It was not all plain sailing when Levi was born a little over a year ago.

Derrick said that when he was born there were some complications.

‘Michelle had to have a drip to make her contractions faster. It’s like being induced,’ he added.

Derrick said Levi is like any other curious one-year-old.

‘He loves swimming and likes bath time,’ he said.

‘He likes watching CBeebies.’

Laurence Turner, marketing executive at The News, who helped to run the contest, said: ‘We’re delighted to carry on running this prestigious competition.

‘We would like to thank all our readers for entering and for voting.’
