IT was smiles all round at an annual tea party hosted at a city community centre.

OAPs were invited along for a cuppa and to enjoy a quiz, a game of bingo, dancers, drama group the Centre Players and even a performance from a choir at Buckland Community Centre in Malins Road, Portsmouth.

Community support worker at the centre Mary Breeze said: ‘The food went down very well and we’ve had a lot of thank you cards since. It overran by an hour, which shows how much people enjoyed it.’

‘They all seemed to enjoy the quiz and the bingo. Thanks to the volunteers that helped and those that donated the food.’

In total, 113 people went along on the day.
