HE MIGHT not be the scariest monster you’ll ever see, but he’s certainly one of the cutest.

Little Freddie Moore, who is seven months old, won the hearts of our One Spooky Day competition judges.

The News launched the contest last month and invited readers to send in pictures that summed up Halloween.

Mum Kate Moore, 27, of All Saints Road, Buckland, submitted her picture of Freddie and has won herself £100 of vouchers to spend at the Family Bargains store in West Street, Fareham.

She said: ‘As it was Freddie’s first year for trick-or-treating, we wanted him to be warm.

‘So we decided to dress him up as the monster from Monsters Inc.

‘When we took him out, lots of people commented on how cute he looked and gave him sweets and money.

‘So I took a picture of him and sent it in.

‘I’m really surprised and happy to have won.

‘The money will be spent on making Christmas extra special, I’m going to get more decorations and treats for the kids.’

Coming in a close second was two-year-old Jack Gerrard.

Grandma Janet Reeds, 62, of Clacton Road, Wymering, sent in the picture and won herself £50 of vouchers.

The part-time sales assistant said: ‘It’s brilliant to win something.

‘His older brother had dressed up for Halloween and Jack didn’t want to be left out.’

Third prize of £25 in vouchers went to Natalie Reeds, 34, who sent in a picture of son Lewis, 11.

Natalie, of Kingsland Close, Paulsgrove, said: ‘I’m gobsmacked to have won something.

‘We held a Halloween party at our house as we hadn’t long moved in.

‘Lewis has a drum kit downstairs, which we decorated and decided to take a picture of him next to them.’
