Memorial service returns to gardens

HUNDREDS of people are expected to attend an annual memorial service next Sunday.

More than 900 people are due to go to the service around the ornamental lake at Portchester Memorial Gardens, in Cornaway Lone, Portchester. There will be readings, music and songs.

It will start at 3pm and then small lanterns will be lit on each grave to remember loved ones.

All proceeds will go towards an appeal to help the Rowans Hospice, a charity in Purbrook that gives specialist palliative care to those with life-limiting illnesses in southeast Hampshire.
