THE House of Commons was given a touch of glamour when an American football team and their cheerleaders dropped by.

Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery met up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few days before their match at Wembley with the Chicago Bears at the weekend.

The Conservative MP is a founder member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for American Football.

He said: ‘Having an American wife has meant I have seen quite a lot of American football and I really enjoy it, so it’s great to meet some of the players.

‘There’s no doubt the sport is becoming much more popular on this side of the Atlantic and the group is also a fun way to cement our ties with the US.’
