AROUND 20 people braved the wind and rain to be united by the humble Mini Cooper.
Members of the Portsmouth and Southsea Mini Owners’ Club met in Lee-on-the-Solent yesterday.
Founder member Rex Patterson brought along his fuel-injected Mini Cooper, which he races in the Super Mighty Mini series.
He said: ‘We‘re just like Formula One, not the same cars, but we race under the same regulations.
‘We start in March along with touring cars.’
Rex took his other modern BMW Mini Clubman Estate down to the meet too – along with hot mince pies for everyone in the cold.
He added: ‘It was brilliant, I was surprised at the number of people who turned up.
‘People drove slowly around the cars to have a look.’
The group went on to the Red Lion in Stubbington after the 45-minute meet.
