THE father of a teenager who went missing over the weekend has thanked everyone for their help after she was found safe and well.

Stacey-Lee Hayler left a friend’s house in Leigh Park on Saturday night but did not return to her home in Bracklesham Bay, West Sussex.

Her frantic father Colin and sister Lisa spent days searching for her along with Sussex Police.

A Facebook page set up to aid the search had 1,200 members and it was there that a friend reported they had received a text from her saying she was with a man in Southsea.

Mr Hayler finally managed to speak to her on Wednesday but the 17-year-old South Downs College student refused to go home.

The 45-year-old said: ‘I’d like to thanks all those people who helped search for Stacey-Lee and also the police forces that were involved in the search.

‘I’d also like to apologise on Stacey-Lee’s behalf for the worry that everyone has been put through.’

Because of her age she can’t be forced to return home.
