Tesco has been collecting food as part of a national drive in aid of FareShare and the Trussell Trust.

Customers have been donating food to the appeal and the company is matching 30 per cent of everything that is raised.

Bobbie Bain is the community champion for Tesco Alver Valley. She said: ‘Caroline had to tick everything off the list.

‘We have had a massive response. A lot of the customers that come in say they have had to use the food bank. The trolleys have been overflowing.’
