BRITAIN’S first millionaire plumber and a world champion swimmer will headline a networking event.

Havant Next Generation Network, which was started by Conservative election candidate Alan Mak, will include a panel of entrepreneurs and sports leaders and will focus on the question ‘Is the British dream still alive?’.

Mark Waldron, editor of The News, will be moderating the panel, which includes Charlie Mullins OBE, Britain’s first millionaire plumber, and Katy Sexton MBE, Portsmouth-born world and Commonwealth swimming champion.

The panellists will talk about their own journeys in life, their stories of leadership and share their tips for success and career progression with the audience.

Mr Mak said: ‘I want to help local people to get on in life, not just get by.

‘The Havant area is full of talent, energy and ambition.’

The free event takes place at The Langstone Hotel on Hayling Island on March 30 and starts at 7pm.
