THREE generations of the same family are travelling round for free this summer after winning a competition.

Lyn Sandy, from Wecock, picked up her prize at Stageoach’s depot in Farlington.

Lyn was of the first to travel on a new fleet of buses for Route 39, which was relaunched in March at a cost of £1.5m.

The grandmother joined other residents as they travelled on the bus and were treated to refreshments and entertainment.

Lyn entered a competition to win 39 weeks of free travel – and to her delight, she won.

Because Lyn already receives a free bus pass due to her disability, she passed on the prize to her daughter Jade Kerr, who has a 15-month-old son, Tyler.

Lyn said: ‘It’s brilliant for her because she doesn’t need to worry about money if she wants to get somewhere.

‘She lives close to the route so it’s nice for her to be able to jump on the bus with Tyler and get to the shops or visit friends.

‘Route 39 has been a lifeline for me, helping me get to doctors’ appointments and to visit family members who rely on me.

‘I use it two or three times a week and the drivers are so friendly.

‘It makes a real difference.’

Route 39 runs every 10 minutes between Wecock and Havant.
