THE manager of a controversial car park is making changes after problems with pay meters and car clampers.

Lee Baron Limited, which run a 62-space car park behind High Street, Cosham, will install a third pay-and-display machine at the site because two meters already there break down. Faulty meters have led to locals being clamped and fined because of confusion over whether they needed to pay.

Handwritten meter displays have made paying unclear but LBL has promised to get them typed up in large font.

Kevin Kelehan, of LBL, said: ‘We want to work with the community and make it clear that hourly charges are now in place.’
