HANDWRITTEN parking meter displays will be replaced after motorists complained they were unclear.

Lee Baron Limited, which owns the car park behind shops in Cosham High Street has promised to replace two hand-written notices on parking meters at the site in the next two weeks.

The notices, issued by New Park Security, state the parking charges of 50p per hour or £3.50 to park all day. But some people have been clamped because they couldn’t read the signs which say how much you need to pay.

Now LBL has stepped in to make sure the displays are typed up in large font.

Kevin Kelehan of LBL said: ‘I agree that the meter displays could have a tidier appearance so we are arranging for them to be typed up in the next couple of weeks.’
