IT’S finally here!

The News’ One Summer’s Day photography competition starts today.

Now is your chance to show off your skills and take some shots of you and your family out enjoying the sunshine.

To take part you need to send us images which must only be from today.

Any others won’t be considered.

They could be pictures of you enjoying a barbecue, building sandcastles on the beach or taking a dip in a swimming pool.

Perhaps you fancy capturing a special family moment at some of the fun events happening across the Portsmouth area today.

Southsea Food Festival, is being held in Palmerston Road, Southsea, and a family fun day is being held at Havant Park from 11am.

Or, how about a fans day at Fratton Park, which is being held from 11am until 3pm?

The key is to send in high-quality snaps which show a lot of colour, positivity and life.

Once all the entries are in we will decide which one is the best.

The winner gets a fantastic three-night weekend break for up to six people at Selsey-based Bunn Leisure.

The runner-up wins a four-night midweek break for up to six people.

The break must be taken outside of August and dates are subject to availability.

The prize doesn’t include food and drink.

Transport and travel insurance is not included.

Email your prints to onesummersday@thenews.co.uk or post them to The News, 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Western Road, Portsmouth, PO6 3EN.

Please include your full name, address and daytime contact number, plus a description of what and who is in the picture.

We’re also encouraging people to send us short video clips of things they get up to during the day.

Although these won’t be considered as part of the competition, they could be featured on our website – portsmouth.co.uk
