A ROYAL Mail delivery office is planning to open on Sundays through December to cope with extra Christmas demand.
The office in Palmerston Drive, Fareham, will open each Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
Royal Mail chief operations officer Sue Whalley said she expected many people would use the extra service to pick up deliveries in time for Christmas.
Ms Whalley said Fareham’s office was one of hundreds across the country which were running extra shifts.
She said: ‘Opening some of our busiest delivery offices on Sundays all year round has been a great success.
‘In these offices, Sundays is one of the most popular days for parcel collection by our customers.
‘We are delighted to open our Fareham office to help everyone in the weeks leading up to Christmas Day.’
Portsmouth’s Slindon Street Royal Mail office will also continue to open on Sundays between midday and 4pm.
