VISITORS will be in for a treat when an Olympic torchbearer stops by at one of Portsmouth’s most famous landmarks.

Sammie Roden, 24, will visit the Spinnaker Tower on Wednesday, August 29, and show off the torch she carried through Petworth, West Sussex. She will climb all of the tower’s 560 steps along with members of Slimming World, which she is a consultant for. The event begins at 7pm.

Sammie is due to be a paralympics ambassador in the upcoming Paralympic Games.

Ellie Stokes, a spokeswoman for the Spinnaker Tower, said: ‘We missed out on the torch relay in July so it will be great to see it at the tower now.’
